Mishal Husain
Mishal Husain is a familiar face on BBC World News as the presenter
of the east Asia-focused World News Today, and also to viewers in the UK
where she presents BBC One's Sunday evening News At Ten.
Her diverse talents have been seen on a range of BBC
programmes including Hardtalk Extra, BBC One's Breakfast show and Radio 4
news and current affairs.
Mishal is particularly well known in the fiercely competitive
television market in the United States, helping establish the BBC brand
there as its first Washington-based anchor. Her nightly news programmes
in 2002 and 2003 developed a keen following around the time of the Iraq
war.
She is also known for presenting live on location for the BBC,
including for the Beijing Olympics, the assassination of Benazir
Bhutto, Pakistan's 60th anniversary and the 2004 US presidential
election campaign.
